Falefa Falls Run & 4km Walk SATURDAY, 21 JANUARY 2017 About the Race In our short history, since 2012, Falefa has played a significant part in the growth and development of Samoa Events. For a start, I was born here and this is my village. The land and water features around here are stunning - the Falls, the scenic mountain road to Fagaloa Tai, Piula Cave Pools, Falefa Bay, Mt Fao and Falefa River. Beyond the river is Le Mafa Pass that plays a big role in the amazing Road cycling events and Half Ironman events we hold here. The other special feature is, the Falefa Falls Fun Run is the opening and closing event each year for Samoa Events. We start the year with this run in January, and end the year at Falefa in November. It is that special. Falefa village is where the road leaves the North East coast to head inland to the South East coastline. A feature of this place is the Falefa river which empties into the sea over the 30m Falefa Falls. Across the river is the mountain road to the villages of Sauano and Saletele at the foot of Mt Fao, the second highest peak on Upolu and the guardian of this part of the island. The Run takes that road overlooking the magnificent Falefa Bay. The 10km run takes you to the views of Mt Fao at the turnaround point. Vision on this run is superb, and mostly a quiet mountain road with no vehicles. You may encounter a couple of cars in the entire run - that is the beauty of this Event. Distances 10km - 6km - 4km Start Times 7.30am - 10km 8.00am - 6km / 4km Registration & Start / Finish Line Falefa Falls Bridge Course Out and back, hilly course, you get it on the down hill on the way back.
