TOUR RULES
- Road bikes only, no TT bikes or aero bars
- Start times are set, riders must be on the start line well before time. Each stage will start on time.
- Stopwatch is not adjusted for late starters - if you miss the start.
- Riders will be provided with a helmet sticker, this to go on the front of the helmet
- Bike tags to go on the seat base - these are personalised tags.
- Timing - standard timing rules will be used at each stage
- Only riders that complete the Tour - every stage without assistance - will be incorporated into the Tour Hall of Honour and allocated a Tour lifetime number.
- Redemption Ride - this is on Rest Day for those who need to make up lost mileage in order to complete the Tour. Redemption distance is determined by the Race Committee.
- Mandatory to ride the Victory Ride Day 6 Final Day to complete the Tour even though this is not a Racing Stage.
- In the event of a Protest, that must be lodged immediately at the end of the Stage. A Panel from the Tour will convene to hear all sides and make a decision. That decision is final.
- The Tour operates a Fines system for minor violations of tour rules and conduct, everyone is in on this and no one is immune to being fined. Anyone can call a fine on others. The funds raised are donated to a local Charity. The 2019 fund of $250 WST was donated to the Government Measles Fund.
- The Tour operates a Daily Tour Briefing and Results - this is an important part of the tour culture and is compulsory for all riders.
