The Tonga Swim tour is a leisurely experience for ocean swimmers. Swimmers can use fins, paddles, wear a wetsuit and other helpful accessories including snorkel and mask during swims. The swims are to be enjoyed not endured. 

FA'FA ISLAND 

Directly away from our accommodation at the Dateline Tanoa Hotel is Fa'fa Island 6.5 km away. This is our first swim, a swim around the island (2km). We will have a day picnic here. There is also the chance for long swimmers to choose the long swim option, 6.5km from Nukualofa to the island - you will be supported in the long swim at an extra cost.

NUKU'ALOFA TO PANGA'IMOTU ISLAND 

The swim starts at the Ocean Swimming Pool to Pangaimotu Island 2km away. There are places of interest at Panga'imotu to visit including a wreck that is quite visible and prominent in front of the island. Non-swimmer members of the tour- will catch the boat to Panga'imotu to await the arrival of the swimmers and enjoy snorkelling around the island. We will have lunch here after the Makaha'a Island Swim. The island was extensively damaged in the tsunami of January 2021. Our visit will not impose on the people that live here. Our landing fee will help the island tourism with much needed income. 

MAKAHA'A ISLAND SWIM

This swim starts at Panga'imotu Island to Makaha'a Island return. The distance is 800m one-way. The swim is two-ways. Non-swimmers will stay put at Panga'imotu Island during this swim.

WHALE WATCHING TOUR

An all-day tour to see whales. We leave from Nuku'alofa. This is an optional activity. 

DESTINATION SWIMS & HERITAGE SITE TOURS

We will visit the heritage sites in Tonga including swims at beautiful beaches around Tongatapu at Ha'atafu beach and other spots.
